The Town of Andover has initiated a comprehensive Downtown amenities project to enhance the municipal parking lots (last reconstructed in 1986), accessed from Barnard, Park, and Bartlet Street. The project aims to reconfigure the parking area to better accommodate pedestrian and vehicle flow, improve drainage structures, and will create a centralized gathering space behind the Old Town Hall that can be activated for outdoor dining, live performances, and other community programming.
- Park Street Parking Lot will reopen on May 26, 2023. Parking Permit holders should park in the parking lot and not on the street.
- Please call (978) 623-8608 with any concerns or questions about the project between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. After 5 p.m., voicemail is avaialble.
- LETTER SENT 5/26/23: Dear Building and Business Owners:As of this afternoon, the parking lot at Park Street will be re-opening. Approximately 120+ parking spaces will be available for customers, employees, and Permit Parking Pass holders. If you have an employee with a Permit, please ask that they park in the lot and not on the street as soon as the parking lot reopens. This lot should remain open and be available throughout the project until final paving and striping is planned in the fall. The next phase of the construction, tentatively and always subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances or weather, will include: drainage, utility, and curbing along Bartlet Street and Park Street. As soon as we have an updated 3-week look ahead, I will post it on the Town of Andover website. The parking lot behind Old Town Hall is tentatively scheduled to be closed beginning July 3, 2023. Joe Assenza, Assistant Town Engineer, and Brandon Pyburn, Project Engineer, will continue to be on-site most days and are always willing to talk and answer questions (978) 623-8608. Please pass this information along to your tenants and customers. Thank you for your continued patience and understanding,
